Maker Park

Maker Park was a proposed public space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, intended to transform a seven-acre industrial site into a hub for artists, makers, and entrepreneurs. Spearheaded by community activists, it aimed to repurpose the old Bayside Fuel Terminal. Instead of demolishing its 50-foot decommissioned tanks, the design would have converted them into venues, greenhouses, and platforms, linking with Bushwick Inlet Park.

To build support, we created a bold visual identity inspired by Williamsburg’s artistic energy. The logo echoed the shape of the tanks, using distorted, custom letterforms and vibrant, graffiti-style graphics. This expressive branding extended into printed materials and an interactive website designed like a digital collage. As users scrolled, layered content appeared, evoking urban art’s tactile nature. The identity captured the neighborhood’s creative spirit and helped rally community interest around the project’s imaginative reuse of industrial space.
